IndiaAI, an artificial intelligence initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India. Its ambition came to life when CoRover, a conversational Gen AI platform, unveiled BharatGPT Mini at VivaTech 2025 in Paris and, within weeks, secured its first commercial partnership in Europe with École des Ponts Business School, Paris.
CoRover is part of the 10 startups currently housed at Station F in Paris for the Station F-HEC International LaunchPad program through MeitY, enabled by the Embassy of India in Paris.
The launch of BharatGPT Mini, an AI model designed for real-world multilingual use, highlights India's growing influence as a creator of responsible, inclusive, and globally scalable AI solutions.
BharatGPT Mini represents the next generation of small language models (SLMs). It has been said to be optimised for low-bandwidth, offline, and multilingual deployments. The model was presented as part of India's broader AI innovation showcase at VivaTech with backing from the Ministry of Electronics & IT and the IndiaAI Mission.
It was unveiled in the presence of Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT, Government of India, Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, CEO of IndiaAI & Director General (DG) of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and Sanjeev Singla, Ambassador of India to France and the Principality of Monaco.
“This AI model works even without the internet, in 14 Indian languages. Imagine citizens accessing healthcare, banking, or governance services just by speaking in their language- no apps, no typing. This is digital empowerment at scale,” said Shri Jitin Prasada at the launch.
CoRover signed its first European commercial contract with École des Ponts Business School, Paris. The school will deploy a multilingual, multimodal Conversational GenAI agent to assist prospective students with resume reviews, program selection, and admissions guidance, setting a new standard in digital engagement for higher education.
“Inspired by the shared vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron, this collaboration reflects how India and France can jointly shape the future of responsible AI,” said Ankush Sabharwal, Founder & CEO of CoRover.
“CoRover’s GenAI solution will completely transform how we engage with future students. This partnership sets a powerful example for Indo-French cooperation in AI,” added Hina Wadhwa, Director of Marketing & Admissions at École des Ponts Business School.
Ankush Sabharwal, founder & CEO of CoRover and BharatGPT, shared his thoughts on X: “What if creating a Conversational AI Agent was as easy as chatting with one? That’s the idea behind CoRover’s BharatGPT - no coding, no technical hurdles. We are turning that belief into reality, making AI creation accessible to anyone with an idea and a voice. This is where Conversational AI truly lives up to its name.’’
BharatGPT Mini is said to offer features like on-device and offline capabilities, multilingual support for 14 Indian languages and major foreign languages, multimodal input (voice, text, video) and multichannel deployment, privacy-first architecture and no-code/low-code creation with CoRoverBuilder.
