Manish Chopra has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sabyasachi Couture, the luxury fashion label majority-owned by India’s Aditya Birla Group.
Before joining Sabyasachi, Chopra was a senior leader at Shein India, working under Reliance Retail’s partnership with the Chinese fast-fashion giant. His career spans technology, retail, and consumer markets, with roles at Crompton Greaves Consumer Electrical, PWC, and leadership positions at Oracle and Microsoft. He had even led partnerships for Meta in India.
This move can be seen as a strategy to scale the operations of homegrown luxury brands after a slow 2024. Luxury designers like Manish Malhotra and Gaurav Gupta, also seeking to take their brands to the global forum.
His appointment underscores Aditya Birla’s commitment to accelerating Sabyasachi’s growth and to strengthening their global presence and meeting rising demand in the domestic market.
